“Keeping Families Home for Good” Conference
The Center for Family Representation (CFR) is excited to announce our inaugural conference, “Keeping Families Home for Good: Collateral Consequences of Child Protective Cases.” Our free conference will be held virtually on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM ET via Zoom.
CFR’s Home for Good (“H4G”) program consists of interdisciplinary civil – housing and benefits, immigration, and criminal defense practices. Through H4G, we address our clients’ additional legal needs, many of which stem from the same circumstances that caused them to have Family Court cases in the first place.
Over the years, we have accumulated extensive expertise on the collateral issues that many of our clients deal with in addition to or because of their Family Court cases. The Keeping Families Home for Good Conference will consist of three separate panels focusing on the following collateral consequences that can accompany an Article 10 case in Family Court: challenges with housing and public benefits, immigration considerations, and concurrent criminal cases. Presenters will also offer best practices for representing clients when they encounter these collateral matters.
The conference will be suitable for experienced and newly admitted attorneys. Each panel has been approved for CLE credits. See conference agenda or course descriptions for CLE information. Professionals from all aspects of the Family Regulation system are welcome to register.
