The Center for Family Representation's 2024 Gala will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Edison Ballroom. CFR’s gala is the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year and is typically attended by more than 350 guests from across the sector, including prominent law firms and leaders in New York’s civic and business community, all of whom are dedicated to improving outcomes for the city’s most vulnerable families.

This training will provide information about the legislation's four major changes to the SCR and how the changes impact families and communities. It will also provide information about the process for sealing and amending your record in the SCR. This training will be hosted by Rise and facilitated by Melissa Lombreglia, CFR Senior Staff Attorney Advocate.

Join Black Families Love and Unite and partners for “Families Belong Together, Families Demand Repair,” a convening on reparations for people impacted by family policing. This space will bring together dozens of lived experts to share stories, build power, and demand reparative justice.

Join us on Wednesday, August 30 from 6-7PM on Zoom to discuss the family policing system, parents' rights, and organizing efforts to protect the rights and autonomy of families in New York City. Shayne Larkin, a Senior Social Worker at CFR, will be a speaker on the webinar. This webinar will be offered in English and Spanish.

Join Law for Black Lives, Black Families Love + Unite, and Movement for Family Power for a conversation between lawyers, scholars, and organizers about reparations for families impacted by family policing. The panel will feature CFR Executive Director Tehra Coles and CFR Family Advocate Imani Worthy as moderators.

Panelists will discuss the impact of the Dobbs decision through the lens of the family regulatory system and how the decision will likely further burden and have a negative impact on families at risk of surveillance by the family regulatory and other systems. Moderated by Diana Denza, CFR Communications Manager: Policy & Advocacy.
